Singapore’s youngest classical-contemporary violin crossover sensation, Josh Wei, has done an incredible amount since bursting onto the local music scene in 2013.

At only 18 years of age, Josh has achieved significant milestones in the music industry, working closely with top names like Gentle Bones (#1 on the iTunes Albums & Singles Charts) and The Sam Willows (Singapore’s Wildcard Nominee to the MTV European Music Awards 2014; and whose cover of ‘Home’ has garnered over 100,000 views on YouTube).
In just over a year, Josh has played festival stages ranging from prominent local festivals (Ignite Music Festival 2014); to international music festivals (Digital and Music Matters 2014; baybeats Festival 2013/2014). He has also performed with artistes’ opening for international acts including Boyce Avenue (2013); Alex Goot (2014) and Against The Current (2014).
He has recorded with award winning producers such as Brad Wood [The Smashing Pumpkins], Leonard Soosay [Caracal], Geoffrey Low [Stephanie Sun] and Roland Lim [Make Them Suffer]. He also has done arrangement work for live broadcast, most recently for The President’s Star Charity 2014. In the media, Josh has been invited as an Industry Panelist to share his views regarding local art and culture on the country’s longest running current affairs programme, “Talking Point”, on Channel News Asia.
Currently based in Singapore, Josh plays on a House of Jean-Baptiste Salomon, Paris, 1754. He holds an ACTL Performance Diploma from Trinity College, London.
Josh is using a System 10 configuration of ATW-R1100 (Receiver), ATW-T1001 (body-pack transmitter), and ATM350cW (clip-on instrument microphone).
