Singapore, 02 April 2014– Audio-Technica has announced a new partnership with Timbre Group to lend support to the local music scene. Both brands have come together because of a common goal:
To raise the profile of Singapore’s musicians. Audio-Technica has also been appointed as the Official Microphone for Timbre Group.

How It Started
The partnership between the two brands started in 2011, when Audio-Techncia sponsored the microphones for the group’s first Mandarin and English pop-rock venue, Switch by Timbre. Timbre has been synonymous with home grown music and its music venues are being used as platforms to showcase Singapore talents. This movement is in line with the values Audio-Technica has been advocating.

Audio-Technica will now be sponsoring Timbre’s key initiative: Singapore Originals, a series put up by Timbre Music to recognize independent, original musical works. The series features up-and-coming Singapore musicians and puts a spotlight on their music. It is held every last Wednesday of the month at Timbre @ The Substation. Xin Chuang is the mandarin spin-off of this, which is held at Switch.
Teng Shaokai, Assistant Sales Manager of Audio-Technica (S.E.A), explained, “Singapore Originals is a great platform for local music. Most bands you hear in bars are usually cover bands that play crowd favorite songs. This is a very unique and meaningful initiative to recognize original music works by local artistes, and we hope this will help create a more vibrant music scene here.’
Danny Loong, Chief Creative Director of the Timbre Group, was also thrilled about this collaboration, “We are confident that this timely synergy with Audio-Technica for Singapore Originals and 新 创, as well as the other exciting showcases in the pipeline will empower our home grown bands to perform at their best.”
