Singapore, — Audio-Technica (S.E.A.) has welcomed local multi-talented violinist, Josh Wei, as their youngest SYSTEM 10 ambassador. This program debuted in 2013 in a campaign known as “Own Your Freedom”, to promote Audio-Technica’s digital wireless system, the SYSTEM 10 for performers and presenters.
At 18 years old, Josh has managed to craft a very niche market for himself as a violinist in the Singapore music industry. In just under a year, Josh has worked with artistes like The Sam Willows, Gentle Bones, Sarah Cheng De-Winne, Monster Cat, Alarice and Esther Lowless, just to name a few.
He has also staged at numerous local & international festivals such as Music Matters, baybeats Festival, the Singapore Night Festival and many others. The studio is also familiar territory for him; Josh records for both local and international acts when he is not on stage. He has worked with producers & engineers such as Leonard Soosay, Geoffrey Low (Glow), Frank Lee and Roland Lim.
Evelyn Woo, Marketing Manager for Audio-Technica (S.E.A.), said, “It is a dream combination. Josh has incredible stage presence and he should not be hampered by wires and whatnots. Without such restrictions, SYSTEM 10 can definitely bring out the best in Josh’s performances and give him peace of mind to rock on.”
Josh has ambitions to tour the region with international artistes in the near future and to lend his musical abilities to shaping other artistes’ material through arrangements.
